Soumya Viswanathan

Soumya Viswanathan is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Cisco since February 2018, Soumya leads the Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group with a focus on platform-independent IOS-XR. Prior to Cisco, Soumya held the role of Senior Director of Engineering at Skyport Systems, which was acquired by Cisco in 2018. Soumya's background also includes a significant tenure at Juniper Networks, overseeing the development of the PTX Platform Software and Network Operating Systems. Earlier roles include Senior Manager of Software Development at Cisco and managerial positions at net.com and Network Equipment Technologies. Soumya holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from William & Mary.
