The Soil and Ecosystem Functions Research Center of Chile (CISFECh) is a national-interest scientific research center funded by Chile's National Research and Development Agency (ANID) and sponsored by the Universidad Austral de Chile, with the Universidad de Chile and the Universidad de Santiago de Chile as associate institutions.

We bring together 30+ researchers from Chilean and international universities to develop world-class science on soils and ecosystem functions across Chile's 6 macrozones. Our work bridges scientific knowledge and the policy decisions that define the future of soil as a strategic national resource.

🌱 Our mission: advancing soil security in Chile by generating rigorous, accessible, and policy-relevant scientific evidence for society, the productive sector, and decision-makers.
