Elliott DeRose has a diverse work experience, primarily focusing on graphic design roles. In 2015, they began their career as an Assistant Photographer at Matthew Doubt Photography, where they worked until 2019. Following that, they joined Ball State University Student Government as a Media Coordinator from October 2019 to April 2020. In 2020, they interned as a Graphic Designer at Ball State University - Miller College of Business before being promoted to a Graphic Designer role at Ball Bearings Magazine in May 2020. Additionally, they served as the Art Director and Digital Design Editor for Ball Bearings Magazine from August 2018 to May 2021. Starting in 2017, DeRose held multiple positions at The Ball State Daily News, including Creative Director, Design Editor, Photographer, and Designer. Their most recent employment is with Cision as a Graphic Designer, which began in October 2022.

Elliott DeRose began their education at Noblesville High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma from 2014 to 2017. Following that, they enrolled in Ball State University and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Graphics from 2017 to 2021. After completing their bachelor's degree, Elliott continued their education at Ball State University and earned a Master's degree in Emerging Media Design and Development between the years 2020 and 2022. In addition to their formal education, Elliott obtained a certification in Design Thinking: Implementing the Process from LinkedIn in October 2021.
