Karen Rawson CMgr has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Karen currently serves as the Director of Product Management-Regions at Cision, where they lead a cross-functional team in building market-leading products and tools for press release content, media databases, and analytics through AI features.
Prior to their current role, Karen was the Head of Product Management at GL Education, where they designed and implemented methods to manage innovative products and led the delivery of transformational change processes.
Karen also has experience as a Senior Product Manager at Capita Education Software Solutions, where they oversaw the product management operations for a large portfolio of products, defined the vision, and developed strategic plans.
Before that, they worked as a Product Manager at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, where they developed marketing campaigns aligned with the product development lifecycle and cultivated a high-performing, collaborative culture.
Karen's earlier experiences include working as a Collaborative Innovation Consultant at Swansea University, spearheading the development and management of OCR's UK and international portfolio as a Customer Development Manager, and serving as a Product Innovation Manager and Project Manager/Business Development Coordinator at Coleg Sir Gar.
Karen began their career as a Lecturer at Trinity st David Carmathen. Throughout their career, Karen has demonstrated strong leadership skills, the ability to drive innovation and change, and a dedication to delivering successful products and solutions.
Karen Rawson CMgr has a diverse education history. Karen obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theatre/Theater from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 1986-1989. In 2004-2008, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Education Management & Training from Trinity St Davids. Karen further enhanced their qualifications by completing the APMP Level D Practitioner certification in Project/Programme Management from the APMP Association of Project Management in 2012. Karen also attended the Chartered Management Institute from 2016-2017, where they earned a CMI degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. In 2022, Karen enrolled in University College Dublin to pursue a Professional Diploma in Digital Transformation Management, which they completed later that year. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications such as Presenting to Senior Executives from LinkedIn and the Directors Development Programme from In Professional Development (INPD) in 2021. Karen is also a member of the Association of Product Professionals.
