Rob Heckart began their work experience in 1995 as a Software Engineer at Integrated Systems Research Corporation, where they created several database-driven applications and a case management system for law enforcement agencies. π Rob then worked at the American Federation of Teachers as a Software Engineer before joining The Scarborough Group as a Software Engineer in 1999. At The Scarborough Group, they maintained the company's FoxPro application and created an automated position moves application.
In 2001, Rob worked as a Software Engineer (Contract) at AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, where they developed a Visual Basic fat-client application and helped establish a SQL Server failover cluster. π Rob later joined CSSI Inc as a Software Engineer and served as a team lead and mentor for four developers. During their time there, they were responsible for WBS schedules and resource tracking.
Rob joined General Dynamics in 2005 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they crafted .NET web sites with SQL Server backends for tracking IT projects conducted by the Internal Revenue Service. π Rob then joined Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a .NET Team Lead/Software Engineer in 2006. In this role, they introduced version control and best practices for application development, and they were an expert in site branding and custom web parts for SharePoint.
From 2008 to 2019, Rob worked as a Web Master at Watchstar, where they used the Magento eCommerce Community platform to create a web store for Watchstar watches. π Rob also worked part-time at Upwork from 2012 to 2020 as a Software Dev, creating multiple database-driven websites and developing a Xamarin application.
In 2020, Rob joined Cision as a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead, where they worked on ASP.NET and SQL Server applications and served as the lead front-end developer for an AngularJS SPA application. π Rob was then promoted to Software Development Manager, Senior Software Engineering Manager, and currently holds the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer. In these roles, they managed software development teams, developed capacity plans, and conducted career advancement mentorship.
