Tim Mathias

Tim Mathias has an extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Tim is currently serving as the Director of Cybersecurity at Cision since November 2021. Prior to this role, they held multiple positions at Cision including Cyber Security Architect, Interim CISO, Director of Global Data Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Operations, Director Cybersecurity Operations, and Director Information Security.

Before joining Cision, Tim worked at Thomson Reuters from 2007 to 2017. Tim held the position of VP, Security Architecture, Consulting & Engineering Services, where they were responsible for technical leadership and coordination of Information Security initiatives across the Technology organization. Tim also served as the VP, Head of IT Security Architecture & Engineering and Sr Director, IT Risk Mgmt during their tenure at Thomson Reuters.

Tim began their career with Thompson Financial in 2004 as a Sr Director, IT Risk Management. Prior to that, they worked at Sprint as a Sr Network Design Engineer from 1991 to 1997.

Tim Mathias earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geography from the University of Maryland, which they attended from 1983 to 1987. Additionally, they obtained the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in January 2018 and the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) certification from ISACA in March 2015.
