Vijoy Gopalan

Vijoy Gopalan has extensive work experience in the field of engineering. Vijoy currently serves as the Senior Director of Engineering at Cision since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Valassis from 2015 to 2021, where they held various positions including Senior Director of Software Engineering, Director of Software Engineering, Senior Manager of Software Engineering, and Engineering Manager. At MaxPoint, they worked as a Principal Software Engineer from 2014 to 2015. Vijoy also has experience working at Riverbed Technology as a Team Lead, Engineering from 2005 to 2014, and at Nortel Networks as a Member of Scientific Staff from 2001 to 2005. Earlier in their career, they worked at IBM Tivoli Software as a Software Engineer from 1999 to 2001.

Vijoy Gopalan received their B.E degree in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Vijoy continued their education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where they obtained their MS degree in Engineering from 1997 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Vijoy Gopalan also pursued various certifications. Vijoy completed several courses on Coursera, including "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," and "Functional Programming Principles in Scala." These certifications were obtained from 2018 to 2020, demonstrating their commitment to expanding their knowledge and skills in the field.
