Michael Kamal

Michael Kamal is an experienced quantitative researcher currently working at Citadel since September 2022. Prior to this role, Michael held positions as a Senior Risk Strategist at Element Capital Management from June 2021 to August 2022, and as a Senior Quantitative Developer at Millennium from July 2019 to June 2021. Michael's extensive background includes roles as a Quantitative Analyst at BlueMountain Capital Management, Director at Wells Fargo Securities, and Executive Director at Chicago Trading Company. Michael also served as a Director at Merrill Lynch and conducted research as a postdoc and staff scientist/computational biologist at the Broad Institute. Michael began a career in finance as an associate and later a vice-president at Goldman Sachs from 1994 to 2000. Michael earned a PhD in Physics from Harvard University, completing studies there from 1988 to 1994.
