Dr. Wei Pan is a leader in computational social science, specializing in big data-driven financial market engineering. Wei earned a PhD in Computational Social Science from MIT Media Lab, under the guidance of Prof. Sandy Pentland, and has extensive experience with companies such as Citadel, Fidelity Investments, and Google. They co-founded Thasos Group and previously worked as a Chief Scientist, applying innovative methodologies to financial markets using their concept of "Reality Hedging." An accomplished author, Wei's work has been published in prestigious outlets, and they have received multiple awards, including the DARPA Challenge in 2009 and Network Science 2012’s best paper award. Currently, Wei serves as the Director and Head of Research Platform for Commodities at Citadel.
