Xu (Simon) Chen is an experienced technology leader with expertise in software development and engineering management. Currently serving as Director and Software Development Manager at Citadel since September 2019, Chen has held engineering management positions at Facebook and Two Sigma. Chen started in the field as a Software Engineer and later advanced to Senior Member of Technical Staff - Research at AT&T Labs, where significant contributions included leading the design and implementation of OpenStack private cloud infrastructure and driving network automation initiatives. Chen has also served as an adjunct professor at Lehigh University, teaching advanced networking and network security. Chen holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and a BS in Computer Science and Technology from Nanjing University. Early research experiences include internships at AT&T Labs and Microsoft Research, focusing on cloud platforms and enterprise service dependency systems.
