David MacLeod has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David started their career in 1997 as a Painter & Decorator at Mansell Maintenance Limited, where they completed their advanced craft Painting and Decorating apprenticeship. David then moved on to Kwik Fit Insurance Services in 2002, starting as a sales consultant and quickly progressing to the role of Team Manager. In this position, they excelled in exceeding targets and effectively managing and organizing their time while mentoring and training both new and existing staff.
In 2008, David joined Capital Group UK as a Magazine Director, responsible for promoting and selling advertising within Enterprising Scotland and Enterprising Energy Magazines. David achieved set targets by motivating and coaching their team, cold calling new customers, and upselling and retaining existing clients.
From 2013 to 2015, David worked at Ingeus as a Performance & Delivery Manager. David then transitioned into the role of Employment Advisor on the Work programme contract for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). In this role, they effectively managed and engaged a caseload of up to 500 clients, providing them with the appropriate level of support and managing their own diary and time.
Most recently, David has been with CITB since 2015. David started as an Apprenticeships Officer, and then progressed to the role of Area Delivery Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Customer Engagement Manager, where they utilize their expertise in engaging customers and managing relationships.
David MacLeod's education history includes attending Greenfaulds High School from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained standard grades and highers. David then attended Cambuslang College from 1997 to 2001, where they earned an SVQ Level 3 Advanced Craft Painting & Decorating degree in the field of painting and decorating. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership from CMI in November 2019, the Professional Development Award SVQ Level 4 in Painting and Decorating from SQA in July 2001, and the SVQ Level 3 in Painting and Decorating from SQA in July 2001.
