Alex Chaffee

Alex Chaffee is an experienced technology professional with a background in software development, consulting, and education. As the owner of Purple Technology and a consultant at Citizen Code since March 2015, Alex specializes in Rails, web, mobile, JavaScript, and UX design and development. Alex has contributed significantly to the San Francisco Ruby Meetup as an assistant organizer since 2008, facilitating workshops and events. Previous roles include serving as CTO at Burlington Code Academy, consulting for Groupiter, and providing technical advisement at Cohuman, Inc. Alex has also held teaching positions at Blazing Cloud and Railsbridge, alongside volunteer work at Dolores Park Works. Early career experience includes a multifaceted role at Pivotal Labs, encompassing coding, coaching, and mentoring. Alex holds a BS in Cognitive Psychology from Reed College.
