Treff LaPlante has extensive work experience in the software development field. From 1998 to 2000, they were a Director at Vivendi-Universal Interactive. Treff then moved on to Ebay-HomesDirect where they held the same role. In 2002, they founded and became the CEO of WorkXpress, a Platform as a Service (PaaS) with a completely end-to-end visual systems administration and software development environment. Treff also founded and became the CEO of CitizenDeveloper.com, which expands software development to non-technical users, in the same year. In 2005, they joined the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) at Penn State University's Special Interest Group on Digital Transformation (CODE) as a Board Member.
Treff LaPlante holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Pepperdine University, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Treff also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University, which they obtained from 1987 to 1992.
