Citizens' Barray is a movement-incubating platform for citizens across Sierra Leone to create social change through informed, collective, and bold non-violent action. By harnessing the power of information, community, and innovation, we invest in young citizen leaders challenging injustices in our communities or beyond.

Our Vision: A just society comprised of secure and resilient institutions and systems that are responsive to an informed, engaged and organised citizenry.

Our solution to citizens being disengaged or silenced in the face of ongoing social, economic, or political injustices in Sierra Leone: harness people power to build fairer, more just systems. 

We build on the powerful tradition of the 'barray'— the heart of public life in towns and villages across Sierra Leone where we meet, resolve disputes, and seek justice. Our work is anchored in three pillars:
Information: Providing access to credible civic and legal information to empower informed action.
Community: Connecting and supporting young citizens for organising and collective action.
Innovation: Guiding citizens to develop bold new tools and approaches for non-violent activism.
