CityDiplomacy.org is an ideas lab dedicated to advancing knowledge, dialogue, and advocacy on the international outreach of cities and territories.

In the 21st century, local actors have become central to global affairs — shaping agendas on sustainability, digital transformation, climate diplomacy, and international cooperation. Cities are no longer peripheral players; they are now laboratories of innovation and governance, influencing how the global system evolves.

Today, the Pacific Rim —and particularly Greater China— plays a decisive role in this transformation. Meanwhile, Eurasia and Latin America are developing regional strategies that increasingly connect local initiatives to global dynamics, redefining how regions interact and cooperate.

Above all, CityDiplomacy.org explores how global governance, foreign policy, and security are being reshaped from the local level. It seeks to understand how cities and territories project themselves onto the world stage, contribute to global debates, and forge new forms of diplomacy in an interconnected world.
