Jacob Simas

Jacob Simas is a mission-driven media professional with over 15 years of experience in multimedia journalism and project leadership, including more than 9 years in management roles within both nonprofit and for-profit sectors. They currently serve as the Community Journalism Director at Cityside, after previously holding the position of Managing Editor at The Oaklandside. Jacob's past roles include Program Manager for Corporate Affairs and Social Impact at Univision Communications Inc. and Program Director at Horizons Unlimited of San Francisco, where they directed youth programs aimed at the Latino community. They hold a Master's degree in Journalism and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
