Josh Mackanic has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. Josh began their career as Manager - Lean Implementation at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where they implemented a lean management system and promoted continuous improvement. Josh then held roles as Manager - Gas Transmission Mapping, Chief of Staff - Gas Engineering & Design, and Supervisor - Project Management Office - Valve Automation. In this role, they managed a $150 million+ valve automation and replacement program. Josh also developed documents for rate case filings and provided support for regulatory proceedings. In 2016, they worked as a Strategy Consultant for the Wharton Global Consulting Practicum, developing a go-to-market strategy for APAC for a leading US based network security company. In 2018, they worked as a Consultant for Allele Advisors, providing management consulting services to a major commercial real estate broker and facility management services firm. Currently, Josh is the Founder & CEO of CivilGrid, a construction intelligence platform combining layers of utility, environmental, and geotechnical site data.
Josh Mackanic obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2003 and 2007. Josh then went on to the University of California, Berkeley where they received an MS in Mechanical Engineering between 2007 and 2009. In 2016, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The Wharton School. In 2011, they obtained a Registered Professional Engineer - Mechanical Engineering certification from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
