Michael James, AICP, is a community-focused urban planner with a strong background in transportation planning and strategic advising. They served as the Transportation Planning Director at CivTech Inc. from 2019 to 2024 and currently hold the position of Strategic Planning Advisor at CivTech Inc. since 2025. With previous roles including BRT Administrator for the City of Phoenix and Transit Services Director for the City of Mesa, Michael has dedicated their career to enhancing community mobility and innovative solutions. They earned a BS in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University and a Master's in Urban & Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University.
