Andrew Shirley

Chief Surveyor at The CLA

Andrew Shirley has a diverse work experience in the field of surveying, land management, and advisory roles. Andrew started their career in 1988 as an Assistant Surveyor at Carter Jonas and then worked as a Land Management Consultantant at ADAS from 1990 to 1995. In 1996, they joined The CLA where they held various roles including Regional Surveyor, Regional Director, National Arable Adviser, and National Access Adviser. Andrew served as the Chief Surveyor at The CLA from November 2012 onwards. In 2011, they also took up positions at Derbyshire Dales District Council as a District Councillor and later as the Vice Chair.

Andrew Shirley attended Ampleforth College from 1979 to 1984 and obtained a Diploma in Estate Management from the Royal Agricultural University from 1985 to 1988, specializing in Rural Estate Management.
