CLADE
Björn Hoffmann has extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Björn is currently the Head of Research and Development at CLADE, where they lead the development of new technologies and manages the research operations. Prior to this, they served as the Team Lead for Hardware Engineering at the same company.
Before joining CLADE, Hoffmann worked at RoodMicrotec N.V. for several years. Björn held the position of Manager Optoelectronics & Innovation, where they oversaw the development of optoelectronic products and led innovation projects. Björn also served as a Team Leader for Materials Analysis & Innovation and worked as a Technology & Failure Analysis Engineer.
Hoffmann's earlier experience includes working as a Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, where they focused on nanoanalysis and nanomanipulation. Björn was responsible for the scientific supervision of advanced imaging systems and conducted research in the field of optics and photonics.
Björn began their professional career as a PhD student at the Institute of Photonic Technology, specializing in nanostructured solar cells. Björn successfully completed their doctoral studies in this field.
During their time as a student, Hoffmann worked as a Student Assistant at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, providing support in various roles.
Overall, Björn Hoffmann has a diverse background in research and development, with expertise in optoelectronics, materials analysis, and nanostructured solar cells.
Björn Hoffmann obtained their Diplom in Physik from The University of Göttingen, where they studied from 2003 to 2009. Björn furthered their education at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, where they earned a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Physics, completed between 2013 and 2016. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also obtained several certifications, including "Change Management – Grundlagen" from LinkedIn in January 2021 and "Innovationsmanagement: Strategie und Anwendung" from Photonics BW e.V. in November 2018. Additionally, they received the certification "Neu in der Führung: Vom Mitarbeiter zur Führungskraft" from Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) gGmbH in November 2018.
