Bo Yao

Bo Yao's work experience begins in 2005 at Mentor Graphics, where they started as a Research and Development Engineer. They implemented a placement system and improved a macro packing algorithm during this time. In 2007, they became a Senior Software Development Engineer and continued to develop optimization algorithms and maintain a proprietary database. In 2012, Bo joined eBay as a Member of Technical Staff and worked on building the search engine Cassini, as well as developing a log retention and analysis system. They also built a monitoring and alerting system for the new search engine. Bo then joined LinkedIn in 2015 as a Staff Software Engineer. Currently, they work at Clari as a Staff Software Engineer, a role they started in March 2023.

Bo Yao obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UC San Diego from 2000 to 2005. Prior to that, from 1997 to 2000, they completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. Bo Yao's educational journey began at Zhejiang University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Bo Yao also obtained certification as a Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer from Cloudera in November 2013.
