David Boone has extensive experience in lithium-ion cell development and battery materials, currently serving as Manager of Li Ion Cells at Clarios since July 2013. Previously, David held the position of Principal Engineer for Li Ion Cell Development at Johnson Controls from September 2009 to July 2013, where responsibilities included leading design and material qualification for automotive applications. Prior roles include Principal Engineer at Milwaukee Electric Tool, focusing on evaluating Li-ion cells for cordless power tools, and Senior Engineer at Spectrum Brands, advancing battery material R&D. David’s early career includes a Staff Scientist role at TPL, Inc., conducting battery materials research, and a Chemical Technician position at Sandia National Laboratories, where gelled polymer electrolytes for Li-ion cells were characterized. David earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Utah between 1991 and 1993.
