Chief Deputy Public Defender

Julia Murray is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Chief Deputy Public Defender at the Clark County Public Defender's Office since 2007. In this role, Julia has represented clients facing a wide range of felony charges, specializing in severe cases such as those involving the death penalty and life imprisonment as part of both the Sexual Assault Team and Murder Team. Prior to this position, Julia gained valuable experience as a Law Clerk/Extern at the Cook County Public Defender and Public Defender Services for the District of Columbia. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature and Political Science from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, complemented by specialized training from the Trial Practice Institute at the National Criminal Defense College and the Death Penalty College at Santa Clara University School of Law.
