Susan Burton

Susan Burton has over 25 years of professional experience in the fields of finance, information technology and consulting. Susan started their career in 1985 as a Graduate at Deloitte, and progressed to Senior Manager and Senior Consultant roles. In 1992, they joined PwC as a Principal Consultant, where they were the lead UK change manager on the implementation of Oracle across the finance function of the world's largest funeral home, and lead IT project manager on the customisation and implementation of SAP across the BBC financial budgeting function for BBC production staff. Susan was also the project leader on major reform projects for IMF, World Bank and DFiD in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia. In 1999, Susan became the Chief Financial Officer at Pets on the Brain, a site taken over by Pets Pyjamas, where they established partnerships with vets throughout the UK, recruiting pet club memberships through individual practices. In 2011, they co-founded Flocktree, a global online community of families living abroad, and was hands-on with all parts of the business including strategy, finance and operations, recruitment, product management, website development, content and relationship management. In 2013, they became the Managing Director at Intrepid Ant Ltd, and in 2015 they founded and became the CEO of Classlist.com.

Susan Burton has a Bachelor of Economics (B.Ec.) from the University of Adelaide (1983-1985), a Bachelor in First Class Honours Fine Art from Buckinghamshire New University (2002-2007), a Diploma in 3D Animation from Takshaa Animation School (2008-2010), and an Introduction to Python - Programming for Data Science from the University of Oxford, Department for Continuing Education (2019-2020). Susan also holds a Chartered Accountant certification from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
