Simon Smith

Simon Smith serves as Chief Operating Officer at Clear Group since March 2025, while also acting as the Advisory Head for Technology, Digital & Operations at the UK Ministry of Defence since May 2022. Smith's diverse experience includes holding the position of Managing Director at Swiss Re from November 2020 to March 2025, overseeing Group Technology Operations and leading efficiency initiatives. Previously, Simon held key leadership roles including CEO of a UK tech turnaround and Group COO at MS&AD Insurance Group. Extensive experience in operational transformation and strategic leadership was also gained at Willis Towers Watson and GE Capital, where significant improvements to business performance and efficiency were achieved. Simon's educational background includes a BA Hons from Sheffield Hallam University and various leadership courses from GE University and military institutions, emphasizing a strong foundation in business management and operational excellence.
