Aaron Saunders has a long and varied work experience. Aaron began their career in 2002 as Director at Time Warner Cable, where they helped define the web strategy for the launch of twc.com. In 2003, they moved to Register.com as Senior Architect, where they led the complete rewrite of the Register.com corporate e-commerce site. In 2007, they joined Creative Information Technology, Inc. as Development Manager, where they directed requirements analysis, systems design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation preparation. In 2009, they founded and became the CEO of Clearly Innovative Inc., a minority-owned solutions firm that develops digital products. In 2013, they co-founded Startup Middle School, a program that harnesses, develops, and promotes the talent that exists within American middle school classrooms. In 2014, they were a panelist at SXSW, discussing the discrepancy in the amount of Black women in the tech startup space. In 2015, they became Adjunct Faculty at Howard University. In 2016, they launched the Inclusive Innovation Incubator, Washington DC's first community initiative intentionally focused on diversity and inclusion. In 2021, they were selected as a Fulbright Scholar to teach a six-week web and mobile Application Development Course on Grand Bahama Island. Aaron currently serves as a Mentor at Techstars.
Aaron Saunders has a Master of Business Administration in Information Systems and Marketing from NYU Stern School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a Nanodegree Program in React from Udacity. Aaron also attended Berkshire School. Additionally, Aaron Saunders has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn and Lynda.com, including Learning Google Firebase for Flutter (2019), React Native: Building Mobile Apps (2017), Learning Redux (2016), Angular 2 Essential Training (2016), Angular 2 Forms: Data Binding and Validation (2016), Learn AngularJS 2: The Basics (2016), Building a Note-Taking App for iOS 9 with Swift (2015), Building a Polling App with Socket IO and React.js (2015), and Learn React.js: The Basics (2015).
