Chet Som

Chet Som has a long history of working in engineering and optical technician roles. Chet began their career in 2000 as a Senior Production Technician at Nortel Networks, where they were a key member of the Research and Development team of Vcsel Packaging. In 2003, they began working at Agfa Corporation as a Senior Mechanical/Electrical Technician, where they tested and debugged GLV chips using Oscilloscope and OSA for Contrast Ratio, Wavelength, and Power of each chip. Chet also worked at Polychromix in 2003 as a Senior Opto-Mechanical Technician, testing MEMS Chips at different wavelength to meet customer specification. In 2004, Chet began working at Palomar Medical as a Senior Engineering Technician, where they were a key member of the Research and Development team of laser diode technology. From 2008 to 2009, they worked at FLIR Systems as a Manufacturing Technician, performing all aspects of electro-mechanical assembly and integration of various highly technical Electro-Optical Sensor systems. From 2009 to 2011, Chet worked at NinePoint Medical, Inc. as a Senior Optical Technician, performing all aspects of electro-mechanical assembly and integration of various highly technical Electro-Optical Sensor systems. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Spectro Scientific as a Senior Optical Engineering Technician, responsible for supporting new products, production and engineering as pertains to optical problems. Chet currently works at ClearMotion as a Senior Engineering Technician.

Chet Som attended Technical Careers Institute from 1993 to 1995 and earned a 2 in Electronic Technician.
