Patrick M. Poon has had a varied work experience, beginning with their role as Founder & Chief Executive Wizard at JobWand in 2010. In 2012, they took on the role of Sr. Software Engineer - Full Stack at Rue La La, and also worked as a Software Engineer / Backend Architect (Contract) at AboutLastNight.com. In 2015, they became a Senior Member of Technical Staff, Software Engineering at Salesforce. In 2016, they founded and organized the Boston Autonomous Vehicles Meetup Group. In 2017, they took a technical sabbatical to study Artificial Intelligence topics, and also served as Team Captain (Didi Chuxing Challenge) for Team In It to Win It. In 2018, they founded Zazen AI. In 2019, they became a Software Architect at Olivia AI, Inc. and in 2020, they took on the roles of Principal Software Architect and Sr. Software Engineer at ClearMotion.

Patrick M. Poon obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration (Finance and Marketing emphases) from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. In 2005 and 2007, they obtained an MBA in International Corporate Strategy from Hitotsubashi Graduate University (Tokyo, Japan) and Hitotsubashi University, respectively. In 2009, they obtained certification from the CFA Institute. In 2015, they obtained a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance. In 2016, they obtained an Advanced Open Water certification from PADI. In 2017 and 2018, they obtained Nanodegrees in Self-Driving Car Engineer and Machine Learning, respectively, from Udacity.
