Verena Friedl

Bioinformatics Scientist II at Clearnote Health

Verena Friedl has held various positions in the field of bioinformatics since 2011. Verena began their career as a Student Worker at the Technical University of Munich in 2011. In 2013, they worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Computational Genome and Protein Biology group of Johannes Söding at the Gene Center Munich. In 2015, they were a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2016, they worked as a Research Internship at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and as a Rotation Graduate Student at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2017, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the UC Santa Cruz Genomics Institute. From 2018 to 2020, they held the roles of Student Mentor, Bioinformatics Intern, Bioinformatics Scientist, and Bioinformatics Scientist II at ClearNote Health (formerly Bluestar Genomics).

Verena Friedl obtained their Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics from both Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and Technical University of Munich between 2010 and 2013. Verena then went on to receive their Master of Science in Bioinformatics from both Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and Technical University of Munich between 2013 and 2015. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2021.
