Valentin Valhondo

Valentin Valhondo has a diverse range of work experience in the aerospace industry. Valentin currently works as a Technical Program Manager at ClearSpace, where they are responsible for designing and developing spacecraft programs for Active Debris Removal (ADR) and In Orbit Services. Valentin is currently leading the CLEAR program, a national UK ADR mission set to launch in 2026.

Prior to their current role, Valentin worked as a Flight Systems Engineer at Loon, where they played a crucial role in the 24x7x365 command and control of a network of stratospheric balloons that provided connectivity to underserved communities.

Valentin also has experience as an Assembly Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer at Thales Alenia Space, where they planned and executed satellite tests for various customers. Valentin'srole involved coordinating multidisciplinary teams to meet tight schedules and developing hardware and software solutions to optimize testing processes.

Earlier in their career, Valentin worked as a Mechanical Engineer at SENER Aeroespacial, specializing in the modeling and analysis of electromechanical systems for fusion energy and astronomy projects. Valentin gained experience with simulation software such as Abaqus, Nastran, and Ansys.

Valentin's work experience also includes internships as a Mechanical Engineer and Process Engineer at SENER Aeroespacial and Barcelona Yacht Design Group, respectively.

Valentin Valhondo's education history includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Space Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which they completed from 2014 to 2016. Valentin also holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, which they completed in 2016. Prior to their master's degrees, Valhondo obtained a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which they completed from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Valentin Valhondo has also obtained several certifications. These include "How to Prepare for Your Negotiations" from LinkedIn in May 2022, "CMAS two-star diver" from CMAS - World Underwater Federation in July 2021, "Project Management Professional (PMP)" from the Project Management Institute in April 2021, and "Management Skills - Team Leadership Skills Masterclass 2021" from Udemy in March 2021. Valhondo also holds certifications in various other areas such as scuba diving, first aid, industrial equipment operation, and volunteering and leisure education.
