Michael Halpern has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Michael started their career at Reuters in 1992, where they worked as a Senior Programmer and Programmer Analyst, contributing to the design, coding, testing, and support of various software systems. Michael then moved on to become a Senior Programmer Analyst, working on projects such as the development of a message logging facility and a Quality of Service monitor for Reuters Messaging. In 2004, they became a Senior Developer at Reuters, where they designed and wrote the real-time server and database tiers for Reuters Chat Rooms. Michael also developed a software component to block Instant Messages carrying malevolent content in a record time of 21 hours. In 2006, they joined Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer, specializing in anti-malware and Data Loss Prevention solutions for Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint Services, and Microsoft Outlook. Michael made significant contributions to the design and implementation of a DLP feature in Microsoft Outlook 2013 Professional Plus. In 2013, they joined Clever Devices as a Senior Software Engineer, working on the Intelligent Vehicle Network controller. Michael then took on the role of Principal Software Engineer.
Michael Halpern holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, which they obtained between 1986 and 1990. Subsequently, they pursued further education and received a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the same institution, completing their studies in 1991.
