Maxine Schaefer

Maxine Schaefer, PhD, is an experienced researcher and educator with a strong focus on applied linguistics and literacy development. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher and Head of Research and Insights at Click Learning, Maxine has previously contributed to significant projects such as the Early Grade Reading Study, developing assessments for early reading. Maxine's academic roles include lecturing and supervising master's students at the University of South Africa and conducting research as a Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher at Florida State University. With a solid educational background that includes a PhD in Applied Linguistics and a Master's degree in Psycholinguistics from Rhodes University, Maxine has also held various consultative and coordination roles in literacy programs and research projects in South Africa.
