Ilya Margolin

Ilya Margolin has extensive work experience in software engineering and development. Ilya started their career at VPI Systems in 2004, where they worked as a Software Developer on two major projects involving WinForms application and network management. In 2010, they joined OptixSoft as a Software Architect, where they worked on a standalone WPF application and later led a team in porting it to Silverlight and XNA.

After that, they worked at Ciklum as a Lead .net Developer, responsible for leading a team in software development. In 2013, they joined Cliffhanger Productions as a Lead Software Engineer, where they played the roles of team lead and tech lead, implementing agile scrum practices and serving as the main architect on the project.

In 2014, Ilya became self-employed and worked as a Senior Software Developer, providing consulting services to a German client, focusing on improving code quality, refactoring, and implementing agile tooling practices.

From 2015 to 2020, Ilya worked at Luware AG @ Ciklum as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the development of a call-center system. Ilya led a team of 12 people in the development of a high-load, high-availability, scalable system hosted in Azure using Docker.

Currently, Ilya is working at ClickDimensions as a Senior Software Engineer, starting in 2020.

Ilya Margolin completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics from 2001 to 2005. In addition, they obtained a certification in German language proficiency at a basic level from Duolingo in June 2016.
