Kirk Higbie

Kirk Higbie is a seasoned professional in railway operations and safety management with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as Program Director of Railroad Safety at Cleveland-Cliffs since August 2023, Kirk previously directed rail operations and government contracts at M&M Protection, LLC, focusing on transload operations and government bids. From February 2007 to August 2022, Kirk held the position of Director of Safety and Environmental at Port Terminal Railroad Association, overseeing compliance and safety programs. Additional experience includes serving as Director of Safety and Operations Manager at Genesee & Wyoming Inc., as well as various roles at Norfolk Southern Corporation. Kirk holds a Bachelor of Arts in Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University.
