Michael Petroni is a Climate Policy Analyst at Climate Analytics, having joined the company in September 2022. Prior to this role, Michael served as a Finance Officer at Rota and held the position of Policy Manager Implementation at the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Planning. Michael's experience also includes roles as a Researcher Assistant in Cephalopod Fisheries at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and as a Field Scientist on Fisheries Survey Cruises for the Marine Institute. A Blue Book Trainee with the European Commission, Michael worked in the Cabinet of Commissioner Karmenu Vella, focusing on environment and fisheries. Additionally, Michael has nautical experience as a deckhand on an Atlantic crossing and has participated in various marine science conferences. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Ecosystem Based Management of Marine Systems from both the University of St Andrews and the Scottish Association for Marine Science, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems from the University of Malta.
