Robert de Jong is an urban sustainability specialist dedicated to transitioning businesses, institutions, and cities toward a climate-resilient future. They currently serve as the Director of the Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability at the University of East London, a role focused on fostering sustainable practices and community engagement. Previously, Robert held positions such as Business Development Director at Ipsum Energy and Programme Director at the Urban Land Institute for the Netherlands and the UK. Additionally, they co-founded Climate Business Partners and have been a Net Zero Cities Expert with Climate-KIC, where they advise on decarbonization initiatives across Europe. Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Sustainability from the University of Western Sydney.
