The Climate Reality Project
Matt Smith is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in educational leadership and disaster response. Currently serving as a Climate Reality Leadership Cadre educator at The Climate Reality Project, Matt also volunteers with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Cycle Services volunteer. Previous roles include being the COVID Testing Coordinator for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and Director of Student Services for the Travis Unified School District. As Superintendent for Griffin Technology Academies, Matt focused on creating high-expectation environments for urban students, achieving notable academic success. Additional experience encompasses leadership positions in various school districts, including a principal role at Vicente-Briones High School and significant teaching experience in the Oakland Unified School District. Matt holds multiple degrees in education, psychology, and mathematics, with a recent certificate in Environmental Awareness and Sustainability.
