David Stone

Head of Product + UX at ClimateHound

David Stone has a diverse work experience in various companies. David is currently working as the Lead UX Designer at REI, where they focus on designing sustainable and equitable outdoor gear. David joined the company in September 2021.

In 2022, David worked as the Head of Product + UX at ClimateHound, where they developed a carbon calculator specifically designed for food and beverage producers. David also created the visual language and design system for testing and learning into an MVP.

During the same year, they were a Co-Founder at The Sporagers, a web3 community focused on creating immersive 3D experiences through VR technology to engage people in climate impact awareness. In this role, David was responsible for art direction, NFT strategy, establishing brand direction, marketing, and VR integration.

Prior to these roles, David worked at Nike from 2018 to 2021, starting as a UX Designer for the Nike.net Platform, where they simplified the onboarding process for B2B vendors. David then became a Senior UX Designer for Line Planning and Merchandising, where they reimagined product planning tools and led cross-functional workshops for collaboration. Lastly, they served as the Lead UX Designer for Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, where they modernized how Nike connects with global factories.

Before Nike, David held the position of Head of Product | User Experience, Marketing, Analytics at BottleHound - The Liquor Order Guide from 2017 to 2021.

David also has experience as a Founder and FAA licensed commercial drone pilot at Launch Aerial Media from 2017 to 2019, as well as a UX/UI Designer and Packaging Development Engineer at Sonoco from 2015 to 2018.

David Stone earned a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Clemson University in the period from 2009 to 2013. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Packaging Science with an emphasis on VR eye tracking consumer purchasing behavior at Clemson University from 2013 to 2015. In addition, they obtained certification in FAA PRT 107 from the Federal Aviation Administration in April 2017.
