Tom Laker

Software Engineer

Tom Laker has a wealth of experience in the creative and technology fields. Tom began their career in 2004 as a Founder for Skiboarders, where they built a digital shop selling freestyle skis across Europe. In 2006, they founded Brick, a blog on creative people, which at its height received 30,000 unique hits a month. In 2011, they began freelancing as a Graphic Designer. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at BSS as a Digital Designer, where they worked closely with the UX team, front end and back end developers on all the projects. From 2015 to 2019, they worked at Raising IT as a Designer and Front End Developer, and from 2019 to 2022, they worked at EasyPractice as a Designer and Front End Developer. Additionally, since 2014, they have been working as a Creative Consultant, consulting for companies across the world, including two long-term contract positions and a vast number of shorter projects.

Tom Laker attended Arts University Bournemouth from 2006-2007, where they completed an NC in Photography. Tom then attended the same university from 2007-2008, where they obtained a Foundation degree in Interactive Media. In 2008, they moved to Falmouth University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design in 2011.
