Michael Schmid

Michael Schmid is a seasoned leader at the intersection of strategy and technology, currently serving as the Corporate Strategy Lead at Roche, where they address significant strategic challenges. With over a decade of experience, Michael previously held the position of VP Strategy at Climeworks, guiding strategy for a climate tech scale-up. Prior to that, they were a Principal at Boston Consulting Group, focusing on healthcare and sustainability. Michael began their career as a Design Engineer at Denel Dynamics and has also led business development efforts at Levidian, enhancing growth in hydrogen and carbon nanomaterials. They earned a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, graduating as the top student in their faculty.
