Ben Lomas

Ben Lomas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ben started their career at Tesco PLC as a Customer Assistant, where they were responsible for stock maintenance, serving customers, and general office duties.

In 2008, Ben joined NHS Stockport PCT as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. Their role involved sample analysis, enrolment, and tracking, as well as the use of various LIMS computer operating systems and equipment for sample analysis.

Later, in 2011, Ben worked as a Healthcare Scientist Associate Practitioner at the Welsh External Quality Assessment Scheme. Their responsibilities included batch preparation of EQA material, microbiological plating, and use of Point of Care Testing (POCT) analyzers for sample testing.

From 2011 to 2014, Ben worked at Technidata UK, first as a Technical Support Analyst and then as a Senior Support Analyst. Their duties included troubleshooting and providing support for LIMS-based systems, as well as managing support cases and delivering remote hardware and software support services to clients.

Since 2014, Ben has been associated with Clinisys. Ben initially joined as an Associate Professional Services Consultant and progressively advanced to the roles of Professional Services Consultant, Senior Professional Services Consultant, and ICE Solution Specialist. In these roles, Ben handled various responsibilities such as interface installations, client meetings, project management, training delivery, SQL/XML/SOAP/HTML interfacing, troubleshooting, and mentoring.

Currently, Ben holds the position of Product Owner at Clinisys, where they continue to contribute to product development and management.

Ben Lomas has a diverse education history. Ben obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine from the University of East Anglia between 2005 and 2008. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science at The Manchester Metropolitan University from 2008 to 2010.

In 2012, Ben enrolled in QA, where they studied and earned a qualification in M2778A, focusing on Writing Queries Using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Transact-SQL. Before attending university, they completed their A-Levels at Ridge Danyers College from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their GCSE's at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, completing their secondary education between 1996 and 2001.

In terms of additional certifications, Ben obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in January 2023 and became a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) through the Scrum Alliance in December 2022.
