Jackie Lowthian

Women's Network Coordinator at Clinks

Jackie Lowthian is Clinks Women’s Network Coordinator. Jackie has an in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system with particular expertise in relation to vulnerable women. She has extensive experience of voluntary sector work to address the complex, multiple needs of justice-involved women dating back to 1989 when she managed a Nacro service in London, the Women Prisoners’ Resource Centre, going on from there to develop and run other services for women nationally.

She subsequently moved into policy work and research, managing Nacro’s work programmes for the Home Office, Ministry of Justice, and Department of Health. In 2011, Jackie left Nacro and set up her own consultancy company, Social Justice Solutions, dividing her time between criminal justice research projects (with Sheffield Hallam and Manchester Metropolitan University) and consultancy support to small voluntary sector organizations. Much of this work has involved supporting women’s services to develop sustainable community provision.

Jackie is thrilled to now be working alongside colleagues at Clinks to support members and looks forward to engaging widely with organizations offering specialist services to women.
