Ardo Illaste

Ardo Illaste has a wide range of work experience in the field of data science and research. Ardo began their career as a programmer at Smilehouse Oy in 2005 and later became a Junior Researcher at Tallinn University of Technology in 2008. After that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bern from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Teleport, Inc as a Data Scientist and continued in that role until 2017. From 2017 to 2019, Illaste worked at Topia as a Data Scientist and then as a Senior Data Scientist. Currently, they are employed at Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology, starting as a Senior Data Scientist in 2019 and being promoted to Staff Data Scientist in March 2022.

Ardo Illaste has a diverse education history in the fields of Biophysics and Engineering Physics. Ardo started their academic journey at the Tallinn English College from 1989 to 2000. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering Physics from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, completing it from 2001 to 2005.

Seeking further specialization, Ardo pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biophysics from TalTech from 2006 to 2007. After completing their MSc, they continued their academic pursuits and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biophysics from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, studying from 2007 to 2012.

Ardo Illaste's educational journey didn't stop there, as they embarked on a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bern from 2012 to 2014, furthering their expertise in Biophysics.

In addition to their formal education, Ardo Illaste has also obtained certifications in other areas of interest. Ardo completed the "S2DS - Science to Data Science" program at the pivigo academy in August 2014, and most recently, in November 2021, they obtained the "Google Project Management: Specialization" certification from Coursera.
