Senior Software Developer at Clio

Jacky Van has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their current role as a Development Manager at Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Clio from April 2021 to January 2023 and as a Software Developer from June 2019 to April 2021.

Before joining Clio, Jacky worked at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as a Software Developer from September 2017 to February 2019. In this role, they built internal applications and RESTful APIs using Spring and Spring Boot, integrating JWT, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and RabbitMQ. Jacky also upgraded AEM from version 6.0 to 6.3 and migrated content and assets, created custom components in AEM and AngularJS, and automated environment provisioning using Chef and application deployment in Bamboo.

Jacky's earlier work experience includes a role as a Web Developer & IT Support Assistant at E.J. Pratt Library, University of Toronto from September 2015 to April 2017. Jacky also worked as a Web Developer & Summer Student at McGill Space Institute from May 2016 to August 2016, where they built a web interface to manipulate pulsar data and used D3.js for data visualization.

In addition, Jacky worked at Three Point Turn as a Software Developer, contributing to the rebranding of a social media application and refactoring the app using Yi, Node.js, and Express. Jacky also worked as a Development Intern at Three Point Turn.

Jacky's earliest work experience was as an Instructor at Kumon from August 2008 to May 2012. In this role, they taught young children English and Math, taught high school students Math, and provided support to parents. Jacky also helped students develop good learning habits and creativity in problem-solving as a math tutor.

Jacky Van attended Vaughan Road Academy from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained an Ontario Scholars Diploma, as well as an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Then, from 2012 to 2017, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science at the University of Toronto - University College.
