Vern Townsend

Vern Townsend has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Vern started their career at Intact in 2011 as a Claims Customer Service Representative, where they provided excellent customer service and handled various tasks related to claims. In 2014, they joined Schneider Electric as a Programmer Analyst, where they supported Telvent OASyS DNA SCADA systems for North American LMS customers and solved complex problems related to production customer systems. In 2016, Vern moved to Eguana Technologies as an Embedded Systems Programmer, where they designed, developed, and tested embedded communication and control software for bidirectional grid tied smart inverters. Vern also modernized a desktop application used for interfacing with the inverter. In 2018, Vern joined FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. as a Software Developer, contributing to various projects until becoming the Customer Engineering Team Lead in December 2021. Now, since 2022, they are working as a Software Developer at Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology.

Vern Townsend obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, where they studied from 2008 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2020.
