John Wang has been working in the renewable energy industry since 2006. John started their career as a Wind Turbine Sales Engineer and Mechanical Engineer at Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. In 2010, they moved to Indiana University as an Assistant Researcher. In 2014, they joined Cornell University as a Research Assistant. In 2016, they began working as a Renewable Energy Consultant at Wood Group - clean energy. Since 2020, they have been a Senior Renewable Energy Data Analyst at Clir Renewables.
John Wang attended Northwestern Polytechnical University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science. John then attended Inwent GmbH Germany in 2003 and 2004, where they earned a Certificate in Grid-Connected Wind Turbines in the field of Wind Energy. John returned to Northwestern Polytechnical University from 2003 to 2006 to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Environemental Engineering. In 2010, they attended Indiana University Bloomington to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Atmospheric science, which they completed in 2012. Finally, they attended Cornell University from 2014 to 2016, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
