Balaji Prabhakar

Co-Founder & CEO at Clockwork Systems

Balaji Prabhakar is the Co-Founder and CEO at Clockwork Systems. Prior to founding Clockwork Systems, they were the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Urban Engines, which was acquired by Google Maps in September 2016. Before Urban Engines, Balaji was a Fellow and Switch Architect at Nuova Systems, which was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2008. At Nuova Systems, they helped design the switch and line-card algorithms for Cisco’s Nexus-5000 switch and lead the effort to standardize QCN (quantized congestion notification), as the IEEE 802.1 Qau Data Center congestion management standard. Co-developed DCTCP. Balaji received their PhD from Stanford University.

Balaji Prabhakar received their Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Balaji also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy.
