Nikhil Mitra has a diverse range of work experience. Nikhil began their career in 2017 as a Lab Intern at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where they conducted research in the Department of Genetics. Here, they focused on predicting cooperative binding of transcription factors in yeast and developed a predictive thermodynamic model.

In 2018, Nikhil joined Outback Adventures as an Outdoor Guide, where they facilitated outdoor activities and led groups. Nikhil stayed with the company until 2022.

In 2019, they worked as a Summer Camp Counselor at iD Tech Camps, where they supervised and mentored students participating in summer technology programs.

Nikhil also gained experience as a UI Software Developer at Nanome Inc. in 2020. In this role, they contributed to the development of user interface software.

Most recently, starting in 2022, Nikhil joined Clockwork Systems, Inc. as a Software Engineer. Here, they have been involved in building software solutions related to clock synchronization and time-sensitive systems.

Nikhil Mitra completed their high school education at Rockwood Summit Sr. High School from 2014 to 2018, earning a High School Diploma. Nikhil then pursued a degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Development/VR & AR at UC San Diego from 2018 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Wilderness First Responder from Wilderness Medical Associates International in December 2019.
