Cloud Commons Canada is a federally incorporated non-profit building Canada's digital public infrastructure - the independent, community-owned layer that lets Canadians see, understand, and govern the digital systems they live inside.

Our first instrument is LEON - the Local Environment Observability Node - a structured research methodology that maps how Canadian-facing apps and platforms collect, transfer, and monetize personal data. Every finding LEON produces is derived from publicly available information, assembled transparently, and published openly for anyone to use.

We're not a tech company. We're not a lobby group. We're infrastructure - built to last, built for the public, and built with a governance structure that makes it impossible to sell out.

Our first pilot - Mapping Canada's Personal Data Economy - is a 12-month research initiative producing Canada's first independent, standardized dataset on digital exposure. Findings go directly to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Innovation Science and Economic Development Canada, and the Competition Bureau - and are published freely for researchers, journalists, and civil society.
Cloud Commons Canada exists because the most detailed data on how Canadians' information moves through the digital economy comes from the corporations that profit from it. We're changing that.

Community-owned. Publicly transparent. Permanently independent.
