John McSherry

John McSherry has worked in legal financial technology for over 20 years, with experience building and managing legal teams, contract negotiation, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, privacy compliance and litigation. As the Chief Legal Officer, John is responsible for overseeing the Cloud9 legal and compliance activities globally.

Before joining Cloud9, John served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Ipreo, a global leader in providing market intelligence, data and technology solutions to all participants in the global capital markets, including sell-side banks, publicly traded companies and buy-side institutions. Prior to his role at Ipreo, John was Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at IPC Systems for 15 years and served at the Enforcement Division of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and as a commercial litigation associate at the New York law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel.

John holds a BA in Political Science from Fordham University, a JD from Fordham University School of Law and is a certified member of the NY State Bar. Outside of Cloud9, John serves as a Board Member of the USO of Metropolitan NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and services to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families.
